Claribel Frost never planned to follow a paleo lifestyle. But after months of sluggish mornings and stubborn weight gain despite regular workouts, she wanted to try something different—something ancestral, even.
“I was tired of eating low-fat everything and still feeling like my metabolism was stuck in first gear,” she says.
Paleo appealed to her because it stripped food down to its basics: meat, veggies, fruits, nuts, and seeds. “No packages, no weird additives. Just food that humans are actually built to eat,” she explains.
What started as a two-week experiment turned into a new rhythm. Mornings began with egg scrambles filled with greens and sweet potatoes. Dinners were rich in color and nutrients—wild salmon with roasted squash, or chicken thighs with rosemary and olive oil.
She noticed changes quickly. Her energy rebounded, her workouts felt more effective, and she didn’t need afternoon caffeine anymore. “It was like flipping on a light switch,” Claribel says.
Even better, the food didn’t feel restrictive. “I wasn’t counting calories or skipping meals. I was just eating food my body recognized.”
Now, paleo is less of a rulebook for Claribel and more of a philosophy. “I don’t follow it obsessively,” she admits. “But when I eat close to the earth, my body runs better. It’s as simple as that.”
