For Juniper Fields, wellness has never been about extremes. “I’m not into fads or ten-step morning routines,” she says with a shrug. “But I do like feeling strong—physically and mentally.”
It wasn’t until the winter she found herself catching every cold that went around her office that she started to reconsider how she was fueling her body. “I was eating a lot of convenient vegan meals, but they weren’t doing much for my immune system,” she says.
Instead of jumping into supplements or cleanses, Juniper turned inward. She began rebuilding her meals around whole foods that were known to support immunity—not because they were trendy, but because they were nourishing.
“I went back to basics,” she explains. “Lots of leafy greens, colorful vegetables, and meals that felt warm and grounding.”
She started making simple soups packed with garlic, onions, and turmeric. Her morning smoothies now included citrus and a touch of ginger. And perhaps most important, she slowed down. “I realized that eating was part of how I care for myself—not just how I check a health box.”
What surprised her most wasn’t just the reduction in sniffles—it was how steady she felt throughout the day. “My energy didn’t crash, I didn’t crave sugar the same way, and my skin started clearing up.”
Now, her immune-boosting routine is more lifestyle than plan. No strict rules, just intentional choices. “It’s not perfect, but it’s powerful,” she says. “And I haven’t had a sick day in months.”
