Livia Hart’s Daily Low-Carb Reset for Afternoon Energy

Livia Hart used to crash every day around 3 p.m. It didn’t matter how much sleep she got or how “healthy” her breakfast was—by midafternoon, she was foggy, irritable, and desperately reaching for coffee or sugary snacks.

“I thought maybe I was just the kind of person who needed naps,” she jokes. But after speaking to a nutritionist, she discovered the culprit: her meals were high in carbs but low in balance.

“I wasn’t eating junk food, but I was relying heavily on bread, fruit smoothies, and granola—all things that spike your blood sugar and then drop it fast,” Livia explains.

So she decided to try a low-carb reset—not a long-term diet, just a few weeks to stabilize her energy. She focused on simple swaps: eggs and greens instead of toast for breakfast, avocado and chicken lettuce wraps for lunch, and a veggie stir-fry with tofu for dinner. No strict rules, just fewer refined carbs and more fat and fiber.

The result was almost immediate. That 3 p.m. crash? Gone. “I could think clearly and work all the way to dinner without needing caffeine,” she says.

Now, Livia doesn’t follow a strict low-carb lifestyle, but she does keep that balance in mind daily. “It’s not about cutting things out,” she says. “It’s about keeping my energy steady so I can do what I love.”
